Serving Colorado therapists

Billing and credentialing, handled. So you can stay with your clients.

MEBC Billing takes claims, follow-up, and credentialing off your desk. You see clients. I make sure the work you already did actually gets paid.

Sound familiar?

Billing is the part of private practice nobody warned you about.

You finished your notes at 9pm. There's a denied claim from six weeks ago you still haven't had time to look at. A new client wants to use insurance you aren't credentialed with yet.

Hours lost on hold

Time spent chasing a payer is time you aren't seeing clients, and it isn't billable to anyone.

Denials that go quiet

A claim gets rejected, nobody follows up, and the timely filing window closes. That's your money, gone.

Credentialing limbo

NPI, tax ID, HCPF, RAE, PECOS: a maze of portals standing between you and the clients you could be seeing.

What I do

Three ways to get the paperwork off your plate

Credentialing

Medicaid and Medicare enrollment from the first form to your first paid claim: NPI, tax ID, HCPF, RAE, and PECOS.

Consultation

One hour to look at what's actually happening in your practice: a stuck claim, a payer question, or where to start.

Payers

The plans your clients actually carry

We only service Colorado medical billing. These are the insurers and programs that cover your client's care and pay for the services you provide. I bill Colorado Medicaid and Medicare along with the major commercial plans most outpatient practices see. If you're on something else, ask.

  • Colorado Medicaid (Health First Colorado)
  • Medicare
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • Aetna
  • Tricare
  • Cigna
  • UnitedHealthcare

Billing systems & software

The platforms behind your claims

These are the clearinghouses and billing platforms where claims get submitted, payments get tracked, and your billing data lives.

  • Already have one set up? I'll work inside yours.
  • Starting fresh? I'll help you pick something that fits a solo or small practice.
  • Availity Availity
  • ReliaTrax ReliaTrax
  • Office Ally Office Ally

How it works

Four steps from first call to first claim

No long onboarding project. Most practices are up and billing quickly.

  1. We meet for a consultation

One hour, by video or phone, to go over what you need (billing, credentialing, or both) and what it will cost.

  2. You send over your practice details

I'll give you a short list of what I need: NPI, tax ID, payer information, and access to your billing platform.

  3. I set up your billing platform

Your information goes into the system, payer connections get verified, and I confirm everything is ready before we go live.

  4. I start billing

Claims go out on a regular schedule, currently weekly, and I follow up on anything that doesn't pay.

Why MEBC Billing

Behavioral health is the only thing I bill

I spent eight years billing for the same behavioral health practice before starting MEBC Billing. Before that I facilitated substance use, parenting, and anger management groups, so I know what your session actually looked like before it became a claim.

That matters when a payer wants a specific code, a specific modifier, or a specific piece of documentation. I've built relationships with these insurance companies over years, and I know who to call when something stalls.

What those eight years covered

  • Commercial, Medicaid, and Medicare claims
  • Denials, appeals, and timely filing deadlines
  • Certified addictions technician; registered as an unlicensed psychotherapist
  • HIPAA trained
  • I work using Availity, ReliaTrax, and Office Ally
  • Behavioral health only, no other specialties

Questions

Common questions

Do I have to be credentialed before you can bill for me?

Yes. Claims can't be paid until you're enrolled with the payer. If you aren't credentialed yet, that's usually where we start. See the credentialing steps for what that process looks like.

How quickly do claims go out?

I currently bill at the end of each week. If your practice needs a different rhythm (daily, twice a week, or around a payroll date), we can set that up.

Do we ever have to meet in person?

No. Everything is remote. Most of my clients prefer texting for quick questions and a video call when there's something bigger to talk through.

I'm a solo practice. Am I too small?

No. Solo and small outpatient practices are exactly who this is built for: the therapists who don't have a front office and end up doing billing at night.

What do you need from me to get started?

Your NPI and tax ID, the payers you want to bill, and access to your billing platform. If any of those don't exist yet, I can set them up for you.
